If it’s so obviously terrible it could only take one email to the principal. But if it’s less obvious then they should take time to carefully reviewed. For example, how many idiots on here thought there was pedophilia in Lawn Boy - because they hadn’t actually read it. One of the first questions on the form is “have you read it?”.

I stayed up last night to read it and now I got a greater issue with this book. 😂 authentic emotions and human attractions absolutely do not need to classify or define ones gender. gender is a social construct, human relationship should not be reduced to a hashtag. |
I read it yesterday/early this morning as well. But I thought it was thought provoking and would lead to an interesting discussion about the idea of the American dream. Also, definitely not pedophilia. Every book in the library is not for every student, but there should be a book in the library for every student. If we take every book that is not in anyway controversial out of the library, I guarantee that book circulation goes down. Do you want non-readers or do you want critical thinkers? |
| I haven't read this whole thread, but I would assume that book banners are showing up here because banning critical race theory didn't work out for them and they need something new to be outraged about. |
Such a good point. Dems are so mentally disturbed. Child sex in books=totally fine. Classic children’s books=racist‼️ |
Dems are mentally disturbed? Your party lies about everything and rejects science. No one banned Dr. Seuss. They stopped promoting those books so much. They weren't banned, but then neither of you read or think much so I'm not surprised by your misinformation. |
Yes. You guys really are. Look at what your party stands for and promotes this book and it’s content is a prime example. Normal people question why we need books with explicit details about 4th graders engaging in gay sex. You guys are like, nothing to see here! And then at the same time outraged by kindergarteners hearing books by dr freaking Seuss. |
That was Loudoun. Fcps just quietly removed Dr. Seuss day, hoping no one would notice. |
The crazy thing is fcps is going to put a student on the board to review the porn and books glorifying pedaphilia with a bunch of middle qged adults. How awkward and inappropriate |
LOL. You can’t be serious. Have you seen how high schoolers act? |
| The images in that book as seen in the video above are beyond disturbing. A child receives oral sex from a man in one of them. Wow. |
If it was cis pedo would fcps ban it? |
| I read it and liked it. I think if a High School kid chose to read it, it would be fine and I certainly wouldn’t call it pornography. I was reading romance novels that were more explicit than this when I was 14. It’s fiction. Read it or don’t- it’s a big world out there. |
This. Some people thrive on outrage. |
