Because they said Venezualeans on mopeds are most of the drivers? Sounds more like someone orders way too much delivery and thinks that's normal. |
LOL. And it continues. If you don’t live in the area what are you doing posting about bike lanes in DC? So bizarre. |
Not as bizzare as the amount of delivery you seem to order. |
I am not sure what this is supposed to mean. You said that most delivery drivers in the city are Venezuelans on mopeds. Which is outlandishly bizarre and something you could only come up with because you read a story in the Washington Post about a small, but growing group of Venezuelan moped delivery drivers. It’s these sorts of small reveals that pulls back the curtain a little on who is keeping a 90 page thread alive on a subject that is over. And apparently it’s an obsessed nutter who doesn’t live here. Your interest, along with the volume of posting is objectively crazy. FYI. |
A lot of support for Connecticut Ave bike lanes on The Promenade today. |
Truly one of the most ridiculous names for a stretch of expanded sidewalk out there. It's hardly a promenade with a capital P. |
Post COVID, none of that is coming back. It is reality. At best, employers will have 2-3 days per week in person, and that won;t be enough to revitalize the downtowns of our country, much less Washington, DC, which is why the city leaders are moving quickly to transforming a lot of the commercial real estate to residential, institutional and educational. |
The Promenade is part of a vibrant urban vision for the corridor that Option C will complement. |

Public meeting today where DDOT must defend its decision to stop bike lanes. |
The purpose of the meeting is for DDOT to propose their plan. I do sure hope that you and your friends use this opportunity to aggressively attack public servants doing their jobs. I’m sure that’s going to go well in your favor. |
If it wasn't clear to people that there will not be dedicated bike lanes on Connecticut Ave, it is crystal clear now. |
Interesting.
DDOT said the configuration: -will not impede emergency vehicles -will not be an issue as an evacuation route -will not impact "cut through" traffic So basically everything the project opponents claimed was a lie. They just didn't want bike lanes, even if the proposed solution is worse, which it is. I guess that is a win? |
