“Brad was blindsided by Shiloh dropping his last name, but he wasn’t surprised,” the insider says. “He feels that Angie has slowly but surely turned their kids against him. She absolutely influenced their decisions to distance themselves from their dad.”

How can you be both blindsided and not surprised? Why is this "insider" being taken so seriously?

I think he was blindsided that she filed at that time to legally change her name, because she didn’t tell him she was doing so. But he is not surprised by the kids all dropping his last name, because he knows Angelina is influencing the kids to drop his last name and distance themselves from him.

But it says he's surprised because he thought they were close.

It's obviously a lie and fake though. Shiloh hasn't used his name in years. They werent close.

Yes, she had used his name up until Monday.

“He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter,"

Um, wtaf? He already had Zahara!! I wonder if favoritism toward his bio kids played any role in the family tensions.

I can't believe that quote was real. Why would they think that would be appropriate to admit?
That speaks volumes as him as a person. And poor Zahara will read this

This is really sad if his team did approve this comment. I used to think Zahara was his favorite kid too. There were so many sweet pictures of them together.

I did too. I guess the cute and cuddly stage will always be different

It would not surprise me if he just lost interest (turning to drugs and alcohol) once they outgrew the cute and cuddly stage and started needing real parenting beyond what a nanny could provide.

I do think he genuinely wanted kids, but was probably never going to be the most involved parent. He certainly bit off more than he could chew going from 0 to 6 in 3 years. You won’t convince me he seriously wanted 50/50 custody those kids.

So many parents, including my dh ended up like this. He was very active when our kids were babies/toddlers but shut down during the middle school years. He got himself out of that rut but many people don't.

So you haven't read the many articles over the years about their unconventional upbringing? That Pitt opposed, futilely? He was shut out of his children's lives from the beginning. Lost interest? He tried and tried but couldn't match Jolie's singlemindedness.

He’s got to be the most helpless hundred millionaire in the world. It’s quite remarkable that he could be so rich and professionally successful and be a pure victim in every aspect of his family life

This describes my dad. Father of the year until adolescence approaches. He’s started (and abandoned) multiple families in the process.

She never allowed him to have a say on their upbringing when they were together. I believe she even adopted Pax against his will. And when they divorced, she wasn’t going to allow them any say or time with the children. Cue her campaign about him being the worst abuser in history. Her children and fans have all eaten up her persona of being the poor abuse victim of Brad Pitt.
