I have 2 daughters and a son. I can make the statement: "I always wanted A daughter." Does that mean I only wanted one of my daughters? Or that I didn't want my son? Of course not.

It simply means in the context of a conversation I'm having, I'm conveying that I've always wished for a daughter and I'm in no way dismissive of 1 of the daughters or my son, all of whom I love dearly.

If you go on to read the article further:

"The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad," adds the insider.

“He still loves all of his kids tremendously,” another source close to Pitt tells PEOPLE. “This whole process has been very hard for the whole family."

Agree with this take. It was a bit clunky but he is just overall sad. He has lost his children, lost them years ago. Whether he wanted to be a good father or not, he was prevented from ever being one.

It's pretty sad.

The whole article is to highlight his sadness about being cut absent from his children’s lives. He acted terribly on the plane, but he was never given a chance to rebuild his relationships with the kids, because his ex-wife purposefully alienated him from the children.

Bio kids. Because he made his feelings with the adopted kids known

No, that's you. You are making that distinction.

These posters must lack reading comprehension. The article states that he loves all of his children.

IMO, the Jolie-Pitt saga is a tragedy and Angelina is the villain. A father has been alienated from his children. Six children have no contact with their father. There are no winners in this saga except Angelina who got exactly what she wanted - to cut her children’s father out of their lives. She’s a selfish woman who is happy because she can keep her “best friends” to herself.

I do think that when someone is estranged from a large number of people who claim to not want to be estranged from her- her father, more than one ex husband- the common denominator has to be considered. Especially considering Jon Voigt and Brad Pitt weren’t really known for being crazy otherwise

His daughter is insane. He publicly pleaded for her to get help for her mental illness years ago.

He’s also an election denier who called Donald Trump the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln. His judgement isn’t sound.

As far as I know, neither of them have legally dropped Brad’s last name. Shiloh is biologically related to Brad too, so you would think she would feel a stronger tie to him.

His adopted son Pax posted this on Instagram back in 2020.

“Happy Father’s Day to this world class a-hole!! You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person. You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell. You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the truth will come to light someday.”
I'd say that they show their feelings in different ways, but the feelings seem pretty consistent.

Huh? Voigt has a terrible reputation. And who is the other ex husband she is estranged from? Billy Bob and Johnny miller are still friendly with her.

Shiloh Jolie filing court paperwork to legally drop “Pitt” from her last name came as a surprise to her dad, Brad Pitt, leaving him “heartbroken,” a source tells In Touch exclusively, although he believes ex-wife Angelina Jolie had a role in it.

“Brad was blindsided by Shiloh dropping his last name, but he wasn’t surprised,” the insider says. “He feels that Angie has slowly but surely turned their kids against him. She absolutely influenced their decisions to distance themselves from their dad.”

I'm sure you were on his side and now this was the last straw.

How can you be both blindsided and not surprised? Why is this "insider" being taken so seriously?

I think he was blindsided that she filed at that time to legally change her name, because she didn’t tell him she was doing so. But he is not surprised by the kids all dropping his last name, because he knows Angelina is influencing the kids to drop his last name and distance themselves from him.
