| Good stuff. |
| Eh, let’s see if she’s all talk. |
| She swept in all wards but 3. |
| Ill vote for Kenyan as an independent. We are not a Mandami city (and no, I do not live WOTP) |
The state government doesn't exist in DC so you can't ask them for a bailout. |
| DC, get ready for Trump rule. |
Not with a Democratic Congress. |
| DH’s first comment this morning: time to move our legal residence to our second home. I bet we’re not the only ones. |
Yeah, about ten of you are going to do this. Crybabies. Like this mayor will be any different from previous ones. |
+1 I don't love JLG but she's also probably not going to be much different than Bowser so it doesn't even matter. |
|
Welp, get ready for tax increases so everything can be free. Guess I’ll have to triple check locking my car door and front door as criminals can freely roam the streets with no consequences.
On a serious note, she is going to have to switch up on some of her promises so perhaps she will not be that bad. |
I don’t care if we’re the only ones. Love living here but done paying exorbitant income taxes. |
Then move to Missouri or Arkansas. The taxes are low there but the quality of life is more your speed. |
I don't think we'll have tax increases. I also don't think she'll even attempt more than like 5% of her platform. If you actually look at her record on the council, it's mainstream. She's Bowser with younger, more progressive rhetoric. That's it. My main concern is that she will do a bad job hiring the team around her. Also I think she's arrogant, and will be defensive when criticized, which I think is a bad combo in an executive. But Duffie is a do nothing grifter. It was two bad options and I think JLG has *slightly* more potential to be an ok mayor. |
| It’s quite pathetic that hoping she backtracks on all of her campaign promises is the best we can hope for. |
