| If I am collecting for a teacher or a coach or whatever, and I say cash or Venmo is fine, please don't email me asking if I take paypal or cash app or zelle or whatever. I'm not a store, or Ebay. |
| I like the people who say "put me in for $20" and then just never pay.... |
| Maybe don’t collect. Most people have multiple ways to collect so perhaps someone else can do it. |
| But how much should I give? (these are the people you went to school with who needed the teacher to give them ideas for their paper or project topics. I hated these people with every breath of my being from 7th grade to grad school (yes they still asked then)) |
| Group gifts for teachers and coaches are my pet peeve. Stop |
Not thanking a volunteer coach for your kid is appallingly rude. |
DP but I do individual thank you cards for every teacher, coach, volunteer instructor, etc. at the end of the year. I do also donate to the group gifts but I actually find them irritating and wish they wouldn't do them. |
You can thank a volunteer coach by saying thank you, or writing a thank you card. If a volunteer coach is in it for the gift rather than the love of the game, then they shouldn't be volunteering. |
Then don't contribute. Just don't ask OP if she takes bitcoin or rupees. |
Yes, everyone is lining up to volunteer a hundred hours for the pleasure of coaching your little Larlo so they can scam you out of a $15 Dunkin card. Its a long con. |
| say no |
| I have always steered clear of that nonsense. My kids are now 21 and 16. |
NP. I do, individually. That way I am not covering up for the cheapos, those who "forgot" to give $, and those who just don't. |
If someone has offered to organize it and all I have to do is transfer money, it's literally the least I could do requiring almost no effort to thank someone for their time and effort since I didn't even want to do that. |
Maybe say “..for electronic payments, I only take Venmo.” |
