I don't know why this made laugh so hard, but thank you. I needed a giggle. |
| I hate group gifts as you never really know where the money goes most of the time. |
Saying you take Venmo is specific enough. People will still ask for something else because that’s what people do. |
I stopped organizing for multiple reasons but when I did, I would buy a gift card with what I had been given at the time. If people said they would pay and did before I gave it but after the gift card, I added that amount in cash in the envelope. If they gave it to me weeks later, I paid it forward to another coach or charity or next season. I was overpaying for almost every gift in the past! People are so strange. I would never do that to someone and especially someone I don’t even know well. |
People are f’n stupid. |
Never had this happen. |
|
I hate these too although I try hard to comply with the instructions.
I don’t have a good alternative so I’m grateful for the people who organize them. |
NP and no. If someone else is doing the favor of taking the donations, you adjust to them. Cash and Venmo are king. Grow up and get Venmo. |
Cash and Venmo ARE multiple ways. How many different forms of payment do you need to chip in 20 bucks? |
Nope. Not getting Venmo |
I’ve heard some people use Venmo as the generic expression for electronic payment. Kind of like some people say Kleenex for tissues, etc. |
Yes it does. |
|
Oh…
I was under the impression that Venmo ➕ Zelle were very similar…… |
| My Venmo got hacked. There was about 9 or 10 DoorDash transactions on the same date adding up to 600. I ask about Zelle because it is on my banking app. |
Or maybe you could volunteer next time. Or find something else for your kid. When you volunteer for kids’ stuff parents who drop their kids off have no idea of the time, planning and unexpected money suck it becomes. Once, someone calculating whether we’d spent over $100 dollars that year was clearly calculating whether their contribution to a token gift was merited. We’d actually spent several thousand in addition to the volunteer time. Because we wanted to. And we never told the kids. But it was nice to get two bottles of (ordinary) wine and a thank you note. |
