Inappropriate contact with a minor

This is the FCPD's press release:
https://fcpdnews.org/2026/06/05/fcps-teacher-charged-with-indecent-liberties-by-custodian/ Langley has more than its fair share of incidents involving staff accused of improper conduct. Last summer it was the football coach. |
| I wonder if this is one of the teachers from the prior threads about high school teachers, making female students feel uncomfortable. The ones were the other teachers rushed to say how the girls/their parents shouldn’t report. |
|
This is the third sexually based crime committed by a Langley teacher either on premises or against a student in the past year - the football coach, the teacher caught masturbating in the classroom and now this.
But tell me again how it’s the best school in the county. |
| Add in the embezzler at Hayfield (more problems there) and thief at Chantilly and it’s clear that the problems run wide and deep. No wonder Reid and the SB distract everyone with boundary studies and stupid calendars. |
| Langley may have the richest students but it does not have the best staff, not by a long shot. So many creepy incidents there over the years. |
| 3 employees arrested in ONE week is very telling. |
Three FCPS employees. Only one from Langley. |
What difference does that make? "Three FCPS employees" was a correct and factual statement. |
+1 |
Very telling of what? They can’t hire good employees? The school system has over 40,000 employees. Maybe if they could pay better they would get higher quality. |

Can parents complain to FCPS central office and the VA Board of Education demand a general investigation, an explanation on how problematic staff end up being hired (are they getting adequately checked?), and an overhaul of how complaints are handled.
We're in MoCo, where we had one very major scandal (a Principal was sexually harassing his own staff and central office tried to sweep it under the rug for years), and the Board of Ed got involved. |
Background checks are only as good as the person’s past — they can’t really predict the future. This teacher was very popular with the students and also taught math very well (he was my younger kids’ favorite teacher, and neither of them said there were any signs of his indiscretions). My kids are utterly shocked, as well as disappointed. |
It's still a government school with government employees who are complete strangers to the parents who send their children there. Wide range of activities and sports, high academic achievement, physically safer than most/all of the other high schools but still a place with a bunch of adults that most of us will never really know. Still, the best school in the county (as far as that goes). |

Nice effort at damage control but there are more weird (and even deadly) incidents involving Langley students, staff, and graduates than at just about any high school in the county.
Another Langley staff member being accused of sexual misconduct isn’t even surprising at this point. |
