Question on AS,
Since Deemer Class is now listed as an evaluator, wouldn’t he try to make sure the same kids he invited to BIC also get AS selections as well? Not even speaking on the fact that he also now selects the All Tournament team and MVP. Not even mentioning that he also does weekly lessons for $100 a week for many of the Baltimore club kids too. |
Does a wet fart break wudu? |

You are just now figuring out the AS is bad at AA when it comes to selections?
1/3 of one of the LI 2030 teams is somehow YJMA kids who I highly doubt went up to LI for the tryout. |
YJ Mid Atlantice?? |
yup. there are a lot of them on the third LI team |
| My guess is they went to the DC/VA tryout and didn't make that team so they put them on the weak LI team |
| What a joke… |
Just like the Marylanders who went down to compete in DC/VA because they may not make MD |
|
can we put it beyond overzealous lax parents to go to LI to tryout?
do they let you do video submissions for AS? |
Agree this is very frustrating and yes, some BIC girls who pay for his lessons and do terrible at the tryout will still make the team. Bigger issue with MD tryouts is not very organized and last couple of years some of the groups never even rotated onto the field where evaluators were watching. In general though Maryland AS teams have a variety of head scratchers from club B teams and some very good (non BIC) players get left off so there is still a chance. If you look at LI 2028 top team is entirely YJ aside from one Legacy. Last year between the 2 MD 2028 teams you had girls from : M&D Black M&D Red Heros White Skwalkers Blue Skywalkers White Crush Coppermine M&D DC MDU East MDU West FCA CCLax Black CClax Red Integrity LTLC Legends SoMD Jets *This is also why MD gets their butts kicked at AS, so while Deemer will certainly get some of his BIC in there, he should really be paying more attention during the rest of the evaluations if MD wants to actually be competitive this year. |
YJ helps run AS. They didn't need to go up to LI. They were just put on a team. Not a good team because they are only on team 3 |
|
Part of the reason why MD struggles at AS is because of not only bad/political acceptances but MD has a team at AA which does pull in talent.
The other regions don’t send much of any talent to AA outside of Long Island, which has the sheer volume to support both events. |
This doesn’t tell the whole story, though. Particularly for the 2028s, the selections are spread out because a lot of the top talent doesn’t choose to try out for American Select. Last year, and even more so this year, many of the best player have chosen All America. This leaves a lot of room at American Select for players from “B” teams, as you put it, and other lower ranked teams. From what I understand, the 2029 AS team is pretty strong, so may be a better case study. |
| Well, how was it? |
| hot is my guess |
