The Bureau of Labor Statistics says we lost 103,900 jobs in the past year. Maybe this is something the mayoral candidates should address?

How exactly is a mayor going to improve this? Be realistic

Not just DOGE, but a lot of the private tech are laying off blaming AI when its really their stock went down or flat and they need to boost it.

Duh. The Federal RIFs + DOGE killing contracts and grants for many government contractors that led to many, many layoffs (I was part of one). How is this news?

More of those jobs are in the M and V part of the DMV.

Yet the housing market is insane right now, with bidding wars being the norm in places like Bethesda and Arlington.

How is rhe DC mayor supposed to make the federal government do anything? Federal employees were fired or pushed out, whole agencies were eliminated, contracts cancelled, and funding to NGOs cut. That's why so many jobs were lost. Add in tech woes and there you have it.

There's been a housing shortage here for years. What's your point?

Is this a real question? How about by not being incredibly hostile to businesses? That would be a good place to start.

Right?

Asking for mayors to be accountable for the deeds of the PedOTUs and Musk is like $h@tting your pants and changing your shirt.

The only possible response is to wring your hands and wait for the government jobs to come back.
