| Two soccer dads interview MLS academy directors like those at PDA, DCU, Orlando City, Red Bull and famous athletes like Talia Sommer every week. It’s good quality stuff. I wonder why they didn’t get more views. |
| They are interesting but they are too soft towards the issues related to MLS franchises. To be honest with you, narratives from 3four3 were truly eye opening for me. |
|
Because it’s not that informative.
I am sure they’ll get better at interviewing, but right now it mainly just confirms the known. |
Famous? No way would I call Talia a famous soccer player. First year on a pro team? Zero name recognition. So not famous. |
| This podcast is a dud. |
+1 People don’t really “listen” that well in youth soccer. They would rather argue over an adjective like famous than comprehend the information and put it into good use. |
|
is there a youth soccer podcast you would recommend?
Btw I don’t like the “I hate soccer” podcast. |
I find it informative to parents like me who didn’t know much about the sport before my kid plays it. |
And what a couple different ones to get different perspectives |
The Inside Scoop (pick through for ones with guests and the first 12 or so) MyFootballCoach Modern Soccer Coach FootballerBasics (YouTube) I don’t listen to anything anymore but when I was learning, those had a lot of content. There is a certain point where you do feel content with knowing what to do, you understand the US development model sucks and you just focus on what your kid needs to do day in and day out. Good luck! |

I’ll be honest… I like it when it confirms my biases. But zooming out, it’s still pretty low-information and leans heavily on one coach’s philosophical gripes. More broadly, the anti-club, anti–other coaches, “everyone’s doing it wrong except me” lane has a built-in audience… disaffected parents. |
100% spot on with this assessment |
| I think that some of the #TheProJourney episodes by Kyle Wilson were helpful (mainly the YouthSoccerPlaybook). I realized that my child and I focused on things early that would not really be that useful until later on, and the focus really should have been on dribbling and 1v1. Compared to other travel players, that is the main gap that we're still catching up on. |
This feels like something someone affiliated with the podcast would post. Good quality stuff is subjective. It’s not that great of a show if you already know almost anything about these clubs. |
