| Reid has hired another admin into an executive role from the poorly run district of Houston. This is the 4th or 5th executive admin she has hired from Houston Independent School which was recently overhauled by the state because the poor performance and failures in Texas. Now, two of our assistant superintendents are running two regions of our county. The other two are our Chief Human Resource Officer and our Chief of Schools. We wonder why Fairfax is going downhill, you don’t have to look too far. What agreement does she have with Houston, I don’t believe she has ever worked there? |
Maybe, because it is an extremely large school district? Odd choice, though. |
If they want to be principals, prove themselves and then be given the cushion job of central office I am okay. But to promote them to be advisors of our school/principals is major issue when they don’t even have a previous job in that role. Reid has hired way too many poor education outside of FCPS in critical roles and it’s costing us. |
But, but, but, we do have one of Oprah's executive producers in a top role. |
|
Yep FCPS downfall is all written here.

| She will only hire those less competent than her. That is a tough thing to find so has to focus on other failed school systems. |
Yep this is my issue, hiring people that have no idea of the FCPS way into bigger manager roles than they previously served is a disaster in the making. |
| Meanwhile we have a wealth of highly educated, experienced people right here in NoVa. People who know the area inside and out. But no, we need to import people from radically different parts of the country. It makes no sense. We have one of the most educated populations in the country, and we are importing people from failed districts in Texas. |
Houston Independent School District was extremely "progressive" and run by very liberal Democrats. Just like FCPS. |
| I think any reasonable person would raise eyebrows at the fact that Reid is selecting multiple top leadership positions from one particular area of the country. She also did this with principal positions like the previous Justice HS principal who also came from Texas and was ousted from Justice after being unprofessional on social media. There aren’t other qualified people from the other 48 states but just one area of Texas? And what about promoting people who already work for FCPS? What does that say that shes willing to give multiple top leadership/principal positions to Texas outsiders over inside people who may have worked 20,25 years for the county? |
Reid did not hire Tiffany Narcisse, the principal at Justice. That happened in 2021 before she arrived. Who did she hire from Houston? Geovanny Ponce as Chief of Schools. How he got hired and managed to last this long is something that the NASA scientists need to study. It defies all logic. He is useless. Word is that principals are counting the days until he moves on to his new job out in the Midwest this summer. |
| Who is the smart money on to take Ponce’s job? |
| Oh this is not good. I am from Houston and HISD has been run poorly for years. Terrible reputation. |
Again: the system was run by progressives. Do you know how to help underachievers? Answer: good, direct instruction. |
| Region 4 region superintendent, from Houston ISD, is leaving. Wonder which Houston replacement will backfill? |
