Shooting selection by SJC is pretty bad right now.

Bad penalty by SJC....man down for at least 2 mins locked in. St. Anthony's puts in 2 goes up by 3. SJC blows a man up with weak passing and too much cradling and one awful sidewinder over the cage. Not sure what happened to that earlier offense for SJC where the ball was moving and the attack was actually involved in the offense. 12-9 St. Anthony's with a little over 3 to go in the 4th

12-9 St. Anthony's wins

Great effort by SJC. Sounds like they got unlucky down the stretch. Would have been a nice win for DMV, but still a respectable showing.

100% agree.

DMV teams need a marquee win at the national stage.

Sounds like SJC gave the St Anthony’s all they could handle today.

Good showing by the Cadets and clearly their best showing this spring.

Bullis and PVI being the most consistent teams (and undefeated) through half the season was not something many DMV observers expected. We may have the most parity in the region as far as I can remember, as the last 6 years have had clear area front runners in two-year runs (Landon, Prep, SJC).

WCAC Thoughts:

SJC offense showed they can click today - an 8 goal first half against St. Anthony's is a hell of an output. On the flipside, a single goal in the second half and a lot of self sabotage on both ends was ugly.

Gonzaga looked like a different team against Prep than earlier games, with much more aggressive offensive play. A hot goalie always helps in big games.

PVI has looked consistently strong offensively and has the signature win against StAB, but when they play Gonzaga in a week and a half, it will have been a month without a real test.

GC has three closes losses and can fill it up offensively.

The tough non-league schedules of Gonzaga and SJC may have them better prepared than their records indicate. The WCAC looks to be shaping up to be a four-horse race with the expected contenders, though: PVI, GZ, SJC, GC. PVI the favorite now, but I don't think anyone would be surprised if any of these four take it home this year.

IAC Thoughts

Somewhat similar to the WCAC in that a clear favorite, Bullis, has developed so far. The ball is moving a lot more on offense than a year ago - they aren't looking for Maher to make all the plays. Have to think they won't overlook Episcopal Dallas after the upset win vs. Landon. They are sound end-to-end.

Prep and Landon have both been wildly inconsistent in their wins and losses.

St. Albans is playing sound team lacrosse and it wouldn't be surprising to see them steal a game vs Prep or Landon.

This looks more like a clear favorite (Bullis) with two other contenders and an upset seeker.

I think Landon is still the team to beat in IAC and it pains me to say that.

Good insight and I tend to agree. Thank you

Perhaps. And Bullis is the team that will beat them. Because they are the team to not be beat.
