Maybe people felt he should have stuck to calling out all ethnic and racial hatred and not qualifying it.

+1. black people have suffered racism forever. Why call out antisemitism? Read the room. There are tons of black people in that room.

Tons of Jews (and people of other backgrounds) as well. Antisemitism has been around forever as well.

And it's all bad. I don't know why some posters feel that the persecution of their group should be paramount

Jews mention antisemitism and they’re accused of making it “paramount.” Can’t make this stuff up. Why do we bother voting Dem?

Because Trump will kill democracy. But it doesn’t make me feel good given the tacit acceptance of antisemitism

Just stop; you only make yourself sound stupid. Even the Post abandoned the false narrative of “trump is a threat to democracy.”

Exactly.

Except when he says things like how he’ll be a dictator only for the first day or how folks will never have to vote again….

Wise people watch what leaders do, and less of what they say.
Most Americans are demanding secure borders. He did it before and he’ll do it again. Dems opened borders on day one. Biggest mistake ever.

Trump killed the border security legislation. You’re an idiot.

Dp.. but Biden had 3 years to fix the issue. Why wait so long? I suspect because people were seeing the news of migrants overwhelming blue states, there was more concern so then Biden felt like he had to act.

He should've taken care if the issue in the first year. That was a lost opportunity to nail 2024

Blah, blah, blah. Call it later than you wanted it. Fine. A bipartisan group came up with a plan and Trump killed it for political gain. He doesn’t think it’s urgent. He just wants to scare people talking about it.

That was the problem. Biden didn't think it urgent and it got out of control. Your blah blah about this is why some people prefer Trump. But go on and stick your heads in the sand. I hope harris pays more attention to the blah blah.

Trump killed a tool that would have helped. You can’t get around that with nitpicky gripes about the process.

No one us disputing that. The point is that Biden let the border issue out of control. He had 3 years to address it. He could've used the EO that he is now using 3 years ago. Heck he could've used it even just last year.

Why Biden? When Trump was in office he had a red senate. If he wanted it to happen, it would have. Biden may have been president, but he did NOT have a blue senate - it was still red. The republicans talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. Also, Biden is not running for president. Harris is.

Rs are tying harris to Biden.

Trump tried to build a wall. That was his attempt and addressing it. Yes it was a dumb way to do it. But the perception is that he did try to do something unlike Biden when it was too late.

I am not that hopeful that harris will tackle it with any urgency. If Rs don't want to cooperate just use an EO like Biden did, if she's serious about it.

Harris has already said that she would pass the Langford bill if it came to her.

Damn we have a good party.

The Clintons need to fade out.

Agreed. Republicans may have no issue with Trump and his human sex trafficking buddy as they pathetically pretend they give a sh*t about the issue of sex trafficking, but I loathe the sight of Bill and Hillary. His association with Epstein alone, should have him disappearing from the political stage.

No. The GOP are being PAID to govern. Their job is to pass legislation which requires compromise. If they can’t do that, then they should go home and we need to elect new leaders either Democrats or Republicans who are willing to do their jobs.

I was at the rally in Milwaukee tonight and the energy was incredible. The arena was full. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to turn people away.

Michelle and Barack were straight fire. Loved every moment!

That's exciting to hear!

I'm glad Michelle said out loud what a lot of us have been saying for years: Republicans lie to themselves about actually believing in merit, hard work and intelligence being how you get ahead when you vote for the ACTUAL affirmative action/DEI/nepo clowns who get to fail upward. Don't pretend you care about educational standards when you keep quiet about dumb, C/D student legacies getting into the Ivies or getting ahead in govt or corporations, and then stupidly tell yourself that the the Obamas got into the Ivies by simply being black.
Anonymous
The Obamas were utter perfection. I found myself shouting out to them throughout their speeches. Intelligent, inspirational, patriotic, caring. And some absolute zingers.

Kudos to Michelle and Barack - that's how you deliver a speech and a message!

“We will never benefit from the affirmative action of generational wealth. If we bankrupt a business, or choke in a crisis, we don’t get a second, third, or fourth chance.”

"Who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those 'Black jobs'?"

"Do something."

“Don’t boo, vote.”

Perhaps for the dogma believers, but it's mostly nonsense when you consider how well so many immigrants do even when they come with zero wealth and frequently not even speaking English or having proper papers.

??

We should be encouraging prosperity based on what we know works: stabiility, education, hard work, savings, reasonable taxes. Instead of finding excuses and blaming others which only serve to discourage those needing prosperity the most.

Oh? Do they often stumble into the presidency after failing at everything else?

Well we do well because we do not take anything to chances because of the fear Michelle spoke about. We work 10 times harder than any other person in the same role. That is a lot of burden to carry our whole life.
