I have grown to dislike Aidan and Liam, just for the faux-Irishness of it all. Yeah, I know, I'm an ass.
I also dislike every Madison/Madeleine variation out there. And Caitlyn. |
You're just being mean. Knock it off. |
Neveah
Riley Ethan Keira The first just because it's made up. The other three are totally fine, I am just tired of hearing them. |
Brayden. |
I don't like androgynous names. |
Yes, I really don't like the way this names sounds. |
Max, Cooper, Jackson. those are the truly common ones.
then there's a whole long list of slightly less common, yet, well-used names trying hard to capture that distinguishing 'last name as first name' thing. Hate all of those too. Turner, Hudson, Emery, Emerson, Carson, Tucker, Truman, Wilson and on and on and on and on. I feel for ya out there in South Riding. |
Aidan (particularly if it has a novelty spelling) and anything that rhymes with it: Jaden, Brayden, Hayden, Caden, etc. |
Such nasty bitches on DCUM. |
I used to like Jacob/Jake and Maxwell/Max but I am starting to despise them because I am so sick of hearing them. |
...said Brayden's mom. |
Mason. Why name your kid after a jar??
And any of the obnoxious "alternate" spellings for common names: Ryeleeh Jaxon Jynyphr Jaydyn Eryc Ehmah Krystyn Seriously, did they run out of vowels at the SSA? |
This made me laugh...I like you, PP. |
I'm not asking this to be snarky, I'm truly curious. Why would anyone be offended/upset about some stranger not liking your kid's name? Did you believe it was universally beloved? I mean, it's one thing for a family member to hate a name you love, but some stranger? Why does it matter? |
Funny, Brayden was top of my list, too. Aiden is ok, but all the knockoffs are bad... Kaiden, Jaden, etc.
For girls, also agree with Madison (though Madeline is ok, if you just must call your kid Maddie). Addison. Brooklyn. Ella. It's just hits my ear wrong, as a standalone name. |
