I rarely eat out. Had a moment of not knowing what I wanted for dinner. So I went to Panera. Have not been there in years.
Got the half and half. “French onion soup” and like half a spicy chicken. Fountain drink. It came with chips (which I took home). The bill was like $19.58 or something. Like WTAF. Also, it was terribly mid. |
| Yes, this is Paners now. On par with hospital cafeteria food at ridiculous prices. |
It is a hospital cafeteria! I had it there when my baby was born. |
| They aren’t even making the dough fresh anymore. It is half baked, frozen, and then sent to the stores. They were bought by a private equity company a while back so I think it’s getting that treatment. |
| That doesn’t seem right. I get a salad there a lot and it’s so cheap. Like $14. Soda was probably 4. |
| Almost all fast casual food is nearly $20 now. I do t know how average people afford anything anymore. |
$14 + $4 =$18.00. So, nearly $20, like OP said? |
And the quality isn’t improving either. Chipotle fell off hard. |
| Like, where have you been? |
Agree so salty now. |
It's SO salty! |
|
Soda is close to $5 at restaurants nowadays!
No more fountain drinks for me. |
| I went into Panera once. I was asked about 45 questions in my quest to simply buy a sandwich. I gave up. I can make a sandwich at home. |
| Panera got bought by PE and has slid downhill ever since. I loved them back in the day, but rarely go anymore. |
| Just pickup a salad and don’t buy a fountain drink. |
