I want to strangle my staff

Anonymous
Next week we have an in person required meeting where everyone is required to be in person.

My one staff asked to work from home that day. I said no, then said if a reason maybe we cover for you.

He said I have a happy hour going to at 7 pm and going to work in person same day is a lot for me to handle.

Dude is 34 and single

I believe the answer to that is “Not my problem”.

I would cover him with dirt after I dig a grave maybe.

I had another person ask about zoom to in person event as her dog gets lonely if gone to long, that one I reported to CEO

Our CEO had traveled out to our office the other week and he'd never been here before, so he scheduled meetings with each office. One of my staff members asked for the call in information to the meeting. It was in the conference room right next to us and she didn't want to attend in person.

they are nuts. once I only required one staff member to be in the office for a three day thing. that is three day over whole year. Guy put in for vacation days last minute. Then I declined and he had some cray cray reason he absolutely had to attend that no person could say no to.

Around one year later he is bs'ing and we brought up a great place to visit. And dude was like yea my GF took me there my birthday once for three days. I look up his birthday and it is those three days. Dude was going to fake being WFH while away with GF vacation and then day before when I denied his WFH he had to last minute make up a emergency to take off vacation days.

At least he is communicating. We just had someone walk out without saying a word.
Such a waste of time spent hiring, training.
How is this normal and how do I take it as 'we are all different'.
At minimum tell us we suck, you are leaving, and taking the other crazy with you.
Hopefully going back to mama's basement.

Your one staff? Like a walking stick?

At least my staff who request periodic work from home days due to anxiety are (1) honest and (2) actually clinically anxious. (Yes, I grant the requests.)

This thread is entertaining though.

I think young workers in 30s - early 40s are the worst. Entitled and lazy.

I mean, in the eyes of the CEO it’s probably better to be the dog lady than the guy who “reports” the dog lady to the CEO.

+1. if the staff does not want to meet you (or the ceo or anyone) in person. Why do you must see him?

You people who don't see a problem with this are the problem. Grow up.
