| Do they still parent as such when kid is in college? What colleges/universities have you found helicopter parents? |
| God they're everywhere. Just look at the Adult Children. 90% of posts are helicopter parents. |
| What colleges to avoid ? All of them have them, don't they? |
| Just look at the parent fb groups for almost any college. Helicopter parents are everywhere. But that's not a reason for your child to avoid a school -- they aren't interacting with parents. |
| All ivies except Cornell. They are like ants at the rest - the heavily curated experiences the parents manufactured for the kids to get into the ivies shifts over to targeting IB or MBB internships |
oh please don't you have anything else to worry about? quit judging other parents |

I think there are many definitions of helicopter parents, and sometimes very good reasons why they would hover.
I don't use social media, so unless you're one of my best friends, you wouldn't realize I'm a helicopter parent to my ASD/ADHD college kid. I feel no guilt or shame - quite the contrary. It's my duty to monitor from afar. |
Welcome helicopter parent. |
Jesus Christ. |
PP you replied to. Unless you've got a child with special needs yourself, shame on you for criticizing. |
go back to your hole. you don't know the struggles or raising a kit with special needs. this parent got their kid to college, so who are you to criticize? |
How is a kid supposed to learn to function independently if his or her parents never stop hovering (even from afar)? |
No need to name names, and in any event, four separate accounts state he didn't have any kids, so couldn't have been a helicopter parent. On the other hand, Mary likely was a helicopter parent. Heck, she always told Jesus he was God's gift to the world. |
I really don’t know any of the parents at colleges. Only knew a handful in HS. Once the kid can make social plans for themself, parent interaction isn’t really needed anymore. |
Ha! |
