Do college kids wear college gear at school

Anonymous
When kids are in college, do they wear shirt, sweatpants, etc with their college name/logo? My HS kids are trying to tell me it's cool to wear your college shirts while you're in HS, but not while you're at the college. Is there truth to this? Not talking about game days, just regular going to class days.

I'd think this depends on the college. At Virginia Tech half the campus is in VT gear every day. But I am sure that varies by school. And seems less likely to be a thing for schools that are more urban.

Every college campus I've visited, half the kids are wearing gear from their school.

Yes because they will be given it during orientation, their parents buy it for them and when all their clothes are dirty it’s something to wear!

I have two daughters in college, one at a SLAC one at a large state flagship. Both wear their college gear regularly. But it is much more common at the large school. I think because there is a greater variety of school themed clothes available.

Yes, of course. Have you been to a college campus? Any of them?

It’s normal at most colleges to wear college gear but also who cares? Let her wear it or not. This is literally not anything you need to get involved in!

This. The sleepwear is very popular. The bookstore on move in day is very busy and $$$.
