| UT's deferred early action release is likely today! I'd be interested in hearing about out-of-state results for prospective STEM majors with some school descriptors and stats. |
It is confirmed by email, not likely. |
| Shortcut: if you are in-state, you got in. If out of state, you didn’t. |
I think whoever were deferred in EA are not getting in. I already know some ppl who got in at my son’s school. |
Yeah, no. It is much more complicated than that. It depends so much on major/college, for one. Plenty of kids outside of the in-state top 5% applied and are certainly not guaranteed admission. Even the auto-admits are not guaranteed their desired major which for many is still a rejection. - Parent of UT student, alum, and Texan. |
Your first sentence is just wrong. |
Which STEM? CS and Engineering are a much harder admit, than, say, Bio. |
I never understood that about auto-admits. So they may not get their major choice - but they still get any major in COLA or just non-impacted ones? |
All STEM, as originally stated. Thanks! |
Bio is competitive too, as many want to do premed. |
What time is it coming out? |
Yes, you rank your first and second and maybe third choice, I can’t remember. For example, people who are applying to McCombs business often will put economics as their second major since that major is actually in the College of Liberal arts and an easier admit. If they do not get into their first or second choice, then they get put into COLA general studies or something, and then try to transfer into a desired major for their sophomore year. But that is not guaranteed either. |
For sure, but it’s not as competitive as the other two. |
I'm sorry you don't read?? STEM is dead in TEXAS they don't believe in science or math. |
Actually, UT is cutting liberal arts programs unfortunately. Still investing heavily in the sciences though. |
