| Going on a business trip where we will be meeting up at several points and he needs to keep track of me. It is just for trip. Would you sign up for Life360 with him. |
|
You are going to get mixed responses - there was just a thread about sharing your location and lots of people are very very pro-sharing and others against it.
I am in the against it side so I would say no but from the other thread - many would do it without a second thought. |
| Why does he need to keep track of you? I assume there is some agenda ahead of time? Even if not, text/e-mail which event you are at and for meeting up just text him your location. Life 360 seems way too invasive for work. |
| Just for the trip, big maybe. Do you have any suspicions he is overbearing, creepy or controlling? If so, no way! If he is rational, normal and this is convenient for several reasons with no drawbacks, sure, just for the trips work needs/hours and switching off when off the clock. |
| Why does he need to keep track of you? Are you a wild dog? No, you're a professional adult who shows up on time prepared. Just say no. |
|
If you are using find my, you could just enable it for one hour each time. Does Life360 have that?
If not, just do it while on the trip then delete. |
| If he has an iPhone just share your location temporarily. |
| Couldn’t he just tell you when/where to meet up? Like text you? |
That would be a "no, dawg" from me and a phone call to HR. |
| I would maybe consider it for the duration of the work trip depending on the type of trip - if it's just a conference where we'll be in the same convention center all day, absolutely not, if it's something with a lot of moving parts, big maybe - but it would be going off as soon as the plane touched down back in DC lol. |
| I would just tell him I don't keep my location on at all unless I need to for GPS, so I won't be able to share. |
| Sure, why not. And then delete it when you get back. |
| F no. |
| I would do it only for the trip if there's a rational reason why. I have a job where this could be entirely rational and even convenient for me. I would obviously delete it the second the reason stopped being valid. |

No. Your boss does not need to keep track of you. You are not a child.
Are you female? |
