| They got an entire week to recharge after the first semester and also time to prepare for upcoming SAT and ACT tests. A week off between quarters or the semesters is necessary for all. |

Vote for it for next school year or for 27-28

| Not a gift as if they extend the school year, they will have to miss speciality camps and programs. |
| Are your kids not in AP classes OP? It’s pretty bad to be missing this much instructional time. Some school districts open in end July or early August and will have 5-6 weeks more instructional time than MCPS gives yet every kid will take the same national exam in May. |
I understand that class time is ideal for AP instruction. But, it is not the only way to study for AP exams. There are a ton of online resources, including your student's AP Classroom on the College Board website. If AP classes are intended to be college equivalent classes, students need to understand that not every single piece of information will be taught to them. They must also study independently. |

My kid had her AP Physics C tutoring session, recorded some music pieces, built an igloo and spent the rest of her time lounging on the couch.
She will test prep in the summer. I think she made excellent use of her time. |
I would much rather my kid get 5 days of instruction for AP Physics and AP calculus. My kid is not self-teaching those subjects. My kid studied for the SAT over the summer so they wouldn’t have to scramble during the school year. |
| My kid just isn't studying for the SAT. She did great on the PSAT. She'll do more than well enough for the schools we are looking at. |
For those who are taking the March SAT or the June one. Not talking about summer!
|
Okay, have them study previous material. Review what they have already covered. It is possible to study what has been taught already. |
And how will they finish the required curriculum having missed so many days? |
Why are you rolling your eyes? You're rude. Not everyone has your priorities. |
Yes we don’t have the priorities of OP’s slacker kid who she feels like crowing about as if they’ve done something good. |
Excuse et moi? Do explain what you are talking about regarding OP and someone else's kid, ass? |
Your kid can't even take the SAT during the school year? Talk about a slacker lol |
