Anyone seen this? Or smell it I should say? Sounds absolutely vile.

| Gross. |
| Someone put up a sign that said “Shitz Creek” lol. |
Dean Naujoks is the man. His quotes in that article are the best. |
| It's not great but it's fine. It's not like you're drinking this. WSSC and DC Water are very well treated and your drinking water is still safe |
Well, it’s gonna be frozen now |
| Ok so here is the thing there are major sewage issues in this whole area, lake barcrofts poop goes into the lake and the dam stinks like poop horribly. The City of Alexandria poop goes into the potomac when it rains too much and it stinks like poop so do the man hole covers you can smell the poop just being by the covers. The city has been using trucks to go around the city and suck the poop out but it hasn't been working well. The point is is this isn't just a Moco issue this issue accepts the entire area. I'm not sure why it's not getting more attention even form the smell alone. The west end Alexandria and Columbia pike by the dam REEK most days. |
| DC Water is responsible for the line, the leak and the cleanup. |
If you don't let DC Water raise rates, they aren't going to be able to fix things. |
Oh great. We are in good hands then. |
And if rates are raised, the money will be used for other things, similar to Louisiana not using money to mitigate hurricane flooding. |
| So people can't swim in the river now? |
| All the small things that people get outraged about on DCUM, and everyone is pretty much chill about all our crap being dumped in the Potomac? Do better DC!!! |
I feel like this has been a perennial thing forever. And DC sewage basically dumps into Rock Creek (remember the pic of RFK with his grandkids swimming in the creek next to the “don’t swim — this creek is full of E. coli” sign?). It stinks, yeah. |
OK, so it has been going on forever. That makes it OK?! Seriously, this doesn’t happen in civilized societies. |
