So many have coconut which is very high in saturated fat.
Thanks! |
Can you try making one?
|
Sure, but again, what ingredients? That was the question. |
|
Maybe yogurt isn't for you, OP. Won't the soy ones work?
There are other sources of non-dairy protein. |

I make my own, get cultures from cultures for health. I use soy milk, west soy, Eden or Trader Joe’s brand - has to be just soybeans and water, no other ingredients.
Warm 1/2 cup soy milk in saucepan - do not boil. Meanwhile whisk 2 tbsp of cornstarch into another 1/4 cup of soy milk. Add to warm soy milk stirring constantly until thick. Remove from heat and whisk into yogurt container with remaining soy milk. Cool. Whisk in cultures and a 1/2 tsp of YACON syrup, maple syrup, or date syrup. Put in yogurt maker or whatever you use. Mine runs 10 hrs then cools several hours. |
| I’ve seen some recipes using silken tofu and cultures and blend with vanilla or berries and calling it yogurt |
I want the pribiotics. |
| It’s not really yogurt then…I don’t get it |
What’s not really yogurt? Soy yogurt with active cultures is most certainly yogurt. |
| Make sure you can tolerate soy. Soy can cause stomach cramping that lasts for hours in people who are intolerant. |
Coconut oil is a healthy saturated fat. |
| Skyr "yogurt" is dairy, but it's low in lactose and technically considered a soft cheese (but with the texture of greek yogurt). If you aren't vegan and just looking for something less irritating that might work. |
| Yogurt is fermented milk. It is a dairy product by definition. You can ferment many things but they aren't Yogurt. |
| I get the kite hill almond milk unsweetened vanilla. It’s high protein but not much calcium unfortunately. |
|
You're better off just eating kimchi for the probiotics.
