When did they drop the "community" from Montgomery College?
It's considerd a top community college in Maryland and ranked 17th nationally among more than 650 community colleges. Lol, rankings of CCs?? Your/your kid's experience at MC? |
| They offer 4 year degrees now |
| Colleague did their undergrad there, then an MS CS at GMU. Capable, knowledgeable, and well respected at work. Work is software engineering for embedded systems. |
| Very strong instructors, particularly on the STEM side of the house. |
| It has been named Montgomery College for decades, since the '90s at least. |
| Harvard on the Pike. |
MC does not offer bachelor's degrees if that's what you mean by "4 year degrees". |
What? Do you mean mcps students who didn't get into selective schools nor UMD who end up there? |
No, MC is a community college. They offer Associates's degrees, licensures, certifications, etc. https://www.montgomerycollege.edu/academics/programs/index.html#types There are students who get an associates and then transfer to finish the remaining 2 years. |
It’s an excellent school and very affordable. It’s not for losers Like you’re implying. |
I don’t think this is true. |
It never had “community” in the title. It was Montgomery Junior College until about 1970, then changed to Montgomery College. |
| I love Montgomery College. I have taken many courses there and got credit for it. |
|
I love their teachers. The best part of Montgomery College is their faculty.

It’s a great option and leads to guaranteed admission to UMD if that is what your child is seeking.
It has a great reputation and we are lucky to have it! |
