A couple of my cousin's kids went there and were very happy with they experience and have good jobs after graduating. They live in MN and the kids work in the Twin Cities.
I'd have been happy to have DS go there but he opted to stay closer to home. I think it should be considered by more kids - has things that are popular like Big 10 and an urban location. If the weather was better it would be more popular. |

| I went there and didn’t recommend it for my kids. Nothing wrong with it, there are just so many better options. MInneapolis isn’t what it was when I was there. |

They have tons of respect for law enforcement there! Just no respect for gestapo crazies I would not visit or consider it until Ice jerks are cleared out. Too dangerous. |

My only experience so far is that my (high stats) daughter applied for engineering, and got a very quick acceptance, honors invite, and merit award that brings the cost down to the same as our in-state flagship.
Faster turnaround and better offer than Pitt. Higher ranked for engineering but Pitt probably offers better research opportunities. If it remains one of her better offers, we'll visit in March. |

We have lots of family in Minneapolis and elsewhere in the state. Minnesotans are the nicest people. The fact that they are this pi$$ed off really says something. |

They are also known to easily eat green beans out of a can in one sitting, ugh. It is so nice weather wise during late spring and summer and early part of fall |

Similar situation. DC applied and got offers making it cheaper than in-state. Minnesota has a great teaching hospital and research opportunities for my kid. DC has also made great friends and is loving it. It is cold, but she got proper outerwear to make it work. |
