Good
Bad Ugly Is your kid currently there or graduated in the last 4 years? Attended for undergrad, or grad? What program, college and major? Outcome after graduating if they already graduated? |
Junior CS major from VA. GOOD CS program, internships, social life BAD and UGLY FB!! No AC freshman year (he survived)
|
| Dumb thread. Do your own research. It's a good school with good outcomes for students. Whether it's right for your kid is subjective. |
If you have nothing to add to this thread, don't and move on, dumbass. |
Is the construction bad and stuffy? Not much of the school year is during air conditioning season. |
Obi-wan Kenobi asks: who is more foolish: the fool, or the fool that replies to him? |
Constant construction on/around campus. |

Dorms range from godawful to good. Food options pretty good. Huge campus (too much for one DC, fine for another). Very nice students overall.
You have to make a concerted effort not to get lost in a sea of students, but excellent outcomes are very possible for the students that do. |
Is there a shuttle taking students around on campus? That big? Or is shuttle only to and from metro station? |
They haven't finished construction? What are they building now? They were working on a new CS building that's got to be finished by now |
| How is the Honors college dorm? And the scholars dorm? |
Ummm . . . seeking other people's experiences and feedback IS a form of research. |
Dorms |
| Business and Engineering are limited enrollment programs (LEPs). As you expect at many colleges. |
| Attended with a full ride scholarship so no complaints from parents' perspective. Kid is a resident doctor now. |
