When do you leave the sinking ship

I never imagined I’d ever have these thoughts but in all seriousness when do you say we’ve reached the point of no return. What will be the final straw for you? The next election could be too late.

Where you going?

Well, about 95% of DC voters voted against this, yet here we are with Trump ruining our city, country, and world as a whole. Where are we supposed to go?

Cabo Verde. Warm. Stable. Far away. At least this is what ChatGPT has recommended…

But isn’t that every election since modern times. DC has never supposed a Republican candidate that I can remember.

I’m thinking about this too. My mind is like this “where are my keys. Should we leave the country? Need to pick up the kids from school. I wonder if I get get a passport in Ireland? Should I paint my living room or don’t bother because we won’t be staying here…”

Naturalized citizen here. Sadly, the US has no history of meaningful civil protest, except for the Vietnam Era, and even that was not successful. So people have no clue how to protest, and their first thought is leaving.

I think that we se going to experience a financial crash soon, and there are already way more sellers than buyers in the home market. Trumps economy is failing quickly (and now he’s trying again to mess with the independent fed chair) so if you want to hit the door and recover your investment in your real estate…

Trump abolishes the Federal Reserve or takes it over with politics. At that point, US is univestible and everything tanks. A recession worse than the Great Depression.

I am continually amazed that people think it is so easy to just move permanently to another country.

You or your children have any disabilities or health conditions then other countries like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand aren’t taking you. You are over 40, good luck. You don’t have a parent or grandparent from the EU, or 5 million dollars or a highly skilled job? Not likely.

This. Additionally, does no one follow international news? Many countries are currently dealing with an alt right problem.
