Fashion related majors at CA public schools

Anonymous
I realize it’s oddly specific but there are people here from all over so I am hopeful.
What are some public schools in CA that offer fashion related majors?
I found CSUN but it sounds like a depressive place overall, and several community colleges.
Is there anything else?

CSU Long Beach at least used to have a fashion design and merchandising major.

I went to public HS in CA, and the people I knew who wanted to go into the fashion businesses went to FIDM. I don't know anyone who was interested in that industry who went to a public univ out there.

I would not pay oos for CSU (assuming OP is not in CA) to go into the fashion industry.

I think Davis does pr is there a CSU near Stockton? I ask because my sister’s stepson’s wife got a degree from one of those. She’s not working now.

Right, most schools I find are private, but I was hoping for public as we are a low income family so would get a nice break on FAFSA but not CSS because of my ex. It’s bad enough that my kid wants a rich people major, I don’t want to pay for it

I am in CA. Also I was told that OOS CSU tuition can be less than in state in some states

Thanks, sounds like a nice place, hopefully this major isn’t impacted. Will research!

I’ll look at UC Davis just in case.

OP asked for public CA schools. I assume they are in-state.

Yes I am in state and I don’t want to pay much for a fashion major!

I would do some serious research about kids who go to CSUs who major in fashion design/merch and what their job prospects are.

Like I stated, everyone I know who wanted to go into this business went to FIDM, or some other fashion school I can't remember the name of.

My kid was interested in this too, but I discouraged it and I am pushing them toward business instead. Also in California.

Business major with some kind of art, design, or fashion minor wouldn’t be a bad thing.

There is a fashion minor at USC.
