| DD got rejected and she’s a top student. I’m wondering who gets in. |
| I know two student one 2025 and 2026 both recruited athletes with top stats in all AP probably top 15 in class that got in. |
| I’m guessing she did not attend their summer school or a feeder high school. |
| Feeder school, test optional, outside of top 30%, ED1. Accepted |
|
1580 SAT accepted
Another 1590 rejected 🤔 At our private |
| Feeder school 3.6/1500 |
Did you genuinely think OP was asking about recruited athletes? |
| Supposedly they place a lot of weight on essays. I wonder if with their ED0, ED1 became harder? |

Saw this on Reddit a few weeks ago
uchicago ed1 rejection Rant got rejected today, i really can't figure out why, especially with their very high ed acceptance rate 3.98uw, 4.7w, 1560 sat, prestigious awards, good ECs, good essays and video profile, rec letters were probably also pretty good, full pay domestic, not applying as a very competitive major |
|
They really, really, really like their private school feeders.
Spoke as a private school parent, it's ridiculous. They're the one hold-out from days of yore. I know mediocre private school kids who got in ED and exceptional public school kids who were rejected. |
There are many many many odyssey full ride kids at Uchicago from public schools ( a lot from Midwest) |
|
DC was accepted.
1590 SAT Top 10 percent in class (private) NMSF National awards in two fields related to major(s) |
Forgot to mention: really good essays! (That last thing is what UChicago cares about a lot). |
What U Chicago cares about is people applying ED so they can increase their yield. Everything else is gravy. |
Obviously, that’s false. The rejected kids (including with very high stats) are also ED applicants. |
