20 plus years of corporate experience

...and I can only get a PT job at a grocery store. I can't even afford to stay in my home nor can I afford to move. I guess I'll end up on the streets soon. This is America!

I'm really sorry, OP. I hope things look up soon.

What is your field? I’ve gotten good advice from people on this site before. Maybe we can help.

I hope you get a good discount on groceries. FWIW I hear Costco is really good about letting people rise through the ranks if that's an option for you.

I mean this nicely, as I’m also someone with 20 years of corporate experience - you aren’t trying hard enough. And I don’t mean sending out 100 copies of your resume.

I was in Project Management in public health.

Tell me what else I need to do? I've reached out to old colleagues, gone to job fairs, gone to networking events. I can't go into businesses or cold call them. What am I missing?

Do project management in IT you don’t have to do it in public health.

Volunteer at a hospital and ask about admin jobs. Try to find inexpensive retraining for healthcare job. Try nursing but connect to utilization review. Find an agency that provides senior care or estate closedown services and work by the hour as an aide.

If you are a caregiver to a senior in your family, see if you can get one of the small grants for respite care which can be your wage.

Get a PA degree at UMES in Princess Anne, MD

You can pick up sidework at OC or pick up something at Tidal Health to pay the bills.

I just talked to someone at Costco today and asked him how he became an Audiologist.

He had worked at Costco for years out of high school. Got a PUblic Health degree. Worked in Public Health for some years then went back to Costco as a floor worker. Costco saw he had the Public Health degree and sent him to Audiologist school and paid for his training.
