WDYT of Hailey/Hayley for a baby girl? What kind of person do you picture? Even if you don't like the name itself, which spelling do you prefer?
Thank you! |
| I know several and all are very nice. Hailey seems the most common spelling and the one I prefer. Followed by Hailee and then Hayleigh. |
| It’s nice. I like it spelled Hailey or Haley. |
| However you spell it, people will misspell it for her entire life. |
|
Hailey would be my preference I guess.
I don't like it, but I'm neutral on it. Sounds like a white, lower middle class, girl next door. |

Don't love it, makes me think of 90s teen mom vibes. I feel like Riley/Hailey/McKenzie were Nickelodeon or Disney character names around then and a lot of people who had kids too young glommed on to those names as aspirational, like an 80s mom naming their kid for a soap star.
I guess Haley is the more common spelling now because of Bieber, but Halley would be my preferred spelling because then there's some ambiguity that the parents could just be really into astronomy. Avoid extra ys and for the love of dog please no -eighs. |
| It's a very 1990s/2000s name to me. I don't think it's common for babies that are being born now. I like it though. |
|
I like Hayley - it reminds me of Hayley Mills in the Parent Trap. I feel like that version sounds a little British retro which I like.
There were several Haileys at our Jewish preschool 20 years ago but I haven't run into it much if at all since then. |
| I think of Hailee Steinfeld and Eminem's daughter Hailie. |
| It should be spelled Hailey. |
|
I like Hailey a lot.
But I would worry about two things. 1) Constantly having to spell it 2) People assuming she is older when Benjamin the workforce and discriminating against her. |
| It has too many spelling possibilities for me. It is one of those names where I would be in my head trying to guess how it's spelled immediately upon meeting the person. I hate getting someone's name wrong, so those types of names really irritate me lol. |
| This is the name of the little girl that befriended my daughter when she was being excluded by the other girls in the class due to being shy and a new student at the school. It has such a positive association for me. 😊 |
| It has Bailey, Kaylee, Paisley, Kylie, etc. vibes. They all kind of blend together at this point. So many girls names end in that sound. |
| I like the name (prefer it spelled Hailey) but it does feel a bit dated. |
