| Good, bad and ugly. |
| Heard at least 3 students from MCPS (W school) |
Which one? I know that there were at least 5 kids from WJ that applied. |
| Private north of DMV - awesome girl (friend of DD) got in. National merit commended, highest rigor, very active in school community. So happy for her |
| Kid’s friend admitted. Fcps |
| Reddit discussion full of deferrals and rejections |
| Deferred |
| Deferred. |
| Boy, affluent suburb north of here. Third kid in his family to get in. Dad is an alum and gives lots and lots of money. |

Any sense of how many ED students Duke defers? And how many deferrals they tend to take in the RD round?
Apparently schools differ quite a bit on this. I just saw someone say Pomona only defers 10% of ED. |
| I know a rejected legacy and a deferred legacy - both have parent(s) who are very involved and consistent donors but not big $$$. |
| Accepted. 1500/4.0/top rigor at private. We're celebrating of course! |

| My kid was deferred. Valedictorian of a suburban public school, 12 APs (mostly 5s), 1560. The "ugly" part is that the initial screen had a blue banner that said "Congratulations" and then included information for an admitted students zoom call. But below that was a link to an official letter that said my kid was deferred. After my kid emailed the admissions email address, kid received an email saying that the Congratulations message was a mistake and my kid was deferred not accepted. |
A congratulations banner with a deferral letter is awful. I’m so sorry to hear that happened to your student. What a rollercoaster this college admissions process is! |
