100%

MLSN BY for Jan-Aug and ECNL SY for Sept-Dec

True, but don't forget that all young soccer (rec and non-rec) U8-U12 will be SY.

Plus USYS/AYSO/USCS (for instance the huge NPL) will be SY.

Plus it seems also MLSN2 will be SY.

So only MLSN1 will be BY? Hard to believe ...

Wonder if (in this scenario) there would be a bunch of BY and SY tournaments as well lol... The longer you think about the implications of one group of leagues staying BY and the others go SY the less it makes sense. Not that 'sense' has been in high demand though.

It's not going to be "a bunch" of BY tournaments. They would only be in-house style tournaments for the MLS (or GA?) teams that choose to stay BY - if they do it. We'll see.

What about MLSN2? Most of the clubs I know who got it have pretty regular teams that play in regular tournaments and college showcases... It will go 'great' telling those parents that they have to now 'play up' at those events.

And, many MLSN1 teams play in regular showcases and tournaments.

Exactly…and the BY crowd puts their heads in the sand when this fact is brought up

No, MLSN1 has to stay in BY to please BY crowds. They are the biggest cash cow.

Our EA team (will be MLS2) plays about 4 to 5 tournaments thourgh the year against all B teams from ECNL or MLS clubs, or A team from local league. MLS2 has to be SY. It would be so dumb to stay in BY with so much unnecessary hassle and trap players.

They’ll just play a year up next year to get a jump start on the new age groups and hopefully stay together after that. FWIW we’re at an all ECNL platform club.

Is this for real? Is the an ECNL club?

If MLSN and GA stay BY, big national cross-league tournaments will be BY. And only “in league” tournies for ECNL and Rec leagues will be SY.

Been in top MLSN team for 2 years, always make MLS Next playoff. We Never play any International game, excpt paying $5K for Mic cup, so our coaches can go to Europe for free. And no summer tournaments since we have 2 biobanding players who cannot play down. We are done with MLS and will move to ECNL.

Not a BY post, I’m a SY supporter. I’m pointing out what will happen, and it’s exactly why we need MLSN and GA to go SY. If they don’t, BY will be the standard for national level tournaments outside of ECNL.

My club just got MLSN2 was chatting with the director he said they are still waiting for what the rules will be and that we should have them soon. Originally he was told it would be the same as MLSN when the biobanding question came up he said they couldn’t give a clear answer because they sound like they’ve decided yet.

Why are we paying these thousands of dollars again?

Because people are too dumb to put their kids into wrestling. My son’s part of club and it’s 5 days a week for $100 a month.

But my daughter wanted to be a soccer player so now I’m in the money spending business.
