As a Democrat, it all feels hopeless.

Maybe you do need a little religion.
You are wrong about nearly everything you think might happen.

Why will religion help me if I feel this way, too?

Because you will begin to understand that while humans have free will, it is God almighty who is actually in control.

Exactly.

I should have known the zealots would be drawn to a thread with this title.

Which Democratic policy do you believe most Americans love?

I fixed your spelling error for you. You’re welcome.

I always want to ask clowns like you, if I show you the statistics, will you admit in your heart that you’re wrong? That was me being funny at your expense; Republicans don’t have the capacity to admit being wrong. But still:

The Democratic Party supports abortion rights vs the GOP supporting a total abortion ban and banning birth control. 63% of Americans think abortion should be legal in all or most cases. That’s some pretty damn broad support. https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/fact-sheet/public-opinion-on-abortion/#:~:text=While%20public%20support%20for%20legal,in%20all%20or%20most%20cases.

Biden is talking about raising taxes on the wealthy (that’s people making over $400,000 a year) while Donald is saying “we need to be nice to these guys.” Right around 60% of Americans think that corporations (or, as John Roberts calls them, “people”) and wealthy people don’t pay enough in taxes: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/04/07/top-tax-frustrations-for-americans-the-feeling-that-some-corporations-wealthy-people-dont-pay-fair-share/

Democrats believe that climate change is real and caused by humans. Republicans think it’s fairies blowing smoke up our collective bum and also don’t ask oil companies to change anything or pay anything to fix it. 72% of Americans think climate change is real, 58% think it’s caused by humans and 77-84% of people think we should be working to stop it. https://abcnews.go.com/538/americans-climate-change-love/story?id=107027932

I could go on, but I don’t want to because Republicans never engage thoughtfully. Americans overwhelmingly support Democratic policies.

There are a lot of ordinary people making over 400k, that aren’t billion dollar corporations. Easy to vote Dem when it isn’t your money the government is taking and then squandering or using in utterly useless ways.

The Republicans are acting likely they already won. Definitely a counting chickens situation.

Vote Blue!

It's boring to watch them go nuts because they do the same thing all the time. Same old same old "democracy is dead" because someone else was democratically elected.

They also think they win every argument by merely saying “MAGA” or “Trump.” No need for evidence or logic…just scream MAGA or TRUMP, followed up by a self-satisfied sneer.

Hi there! I posted last night, a longish detailed explanation of how Democratic polices are immensely popular whereas the GOP is as popular as a creep at a playground. I have to admit, i am wearing a “self-satisfied sneer” (it’s actually a rueful grin) at the fact that you almost had to have read my post and then you felt sufficiently smacked down that you wrote this.

Republican policies, including Project 2025 (which newly emerged video from 2022 shows Trump bragging on Heritage’s plans for him and how they would basically run a second term of his, so… yes, it’s the Republican Party platform in 2024), are unwanted and unpopular. People don’t want Republicans in office and they don’t want Republican policies running their lives.

So go ahead and re-read what I wrote last night and bask in the fact that Americans like Democratic policies.

Looks like the Fox news fearmongering is working as intended.

Hi, OP! How are you feeling? Do you feel any better now that Biden has stepped down? We have an opportunity to right this ship now!

LOL. Ordinary people aren't making over $400K.

I was actually considering skipping the presidential vote this year. But not anymore!

+1 I'm excited now, even though I know it will be an uphill battle. DH and I each had the same instinct tonight to donate to the Harris campaign when we refused to donate to Biden's. I don't think she is perfect by any means but I really want her to be president. With Biden it was like well if it's him or Trump I guess Biden. I think there are many out there like DH and me.

Fox was making sure all their viewers understood that apparently Kamala wants to ban plastic straws. Major scoop.
