He's simply going for the money grab. There will be quite a few lawsuits related to this.

Most interesting was his comments on safety, and I thought the armorer should be able to spot a live round versus a dummy.

I wouldn’t automatically assume any lawsuit in this situation is a money grab. Two people were shot and one killed by someone. It’s kind of a big deal.

He's suing for emotional distress. Yes, it sounds like a money grab. By his ambulance chasing lawyer, if not by him.

Exactly. He had little to do with anything except seeing it happen. A total money grab especially in that industry where work can be spotty for his kind of job.

The woman died in his arms. That would cause most people some distress

Oh give me a break… and he’s also coincidentally suing the deepest pockets.

I thought we were supposed to feel sorry to Alec having been traumatized by killing people. I think we can also have sympathy for someone who was standing right next to Halyna, on the business end of Alec's gun. Similarly, the same folks have argued that Alec acted completely within his duties and responsibilities, and insurance will pay out. So no problems for Alec, if this is all correct.

I read that he had done 9 films with Halyna and came onto this crew because of her. Sounds like they were good friends and colleagues. Holding your friend as they die in their arms is a legitimately horrifying and traumatizing experience for any emotionally sane person.

Yes, it is. But it's still ambulance chasing to sue for it.

It would be really messed up if there weren’t any lawsuits in this situation.

Completely agree. It's hard to argue this is a frivolous lawsuit when someone actually died.

I've seen a few bad accidents, but doesn't mean I can sue because I'm traumatized. He's merely getting on the money train.

Now Clooney is commenting on the Rust set situation which he knows nothing about. Amazes me how some of these celebs need to capitalize on this for a little ray of sun.

He may not have "needed" to use the gun, but it seems like a normal thing to do in rehearsal.

If the scene did not call for him to pull the trigger, as the suit alleges, his argument that he was doing as instructed is really undermined.

Agreed. I was defending him against negligence charges because it seemed he was acting within the scope of his duties and expected practice for that work environment but this is really problematic for him. He really seems like he has been on his last string for a while now, with the combo of age, his wife’s mental health problems and public embarrassment, and the endless stream of young children. Most guys that age don’t sleep well to start with. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been running on empty. (And hopefully not back on the coke. He has a reputation for that in the 80s). I do wonder if everyone was drug/alcohol tested after the shooting. I haven’t seen any reference to that.

He posted a video to instagram earlier that week, and he was rambling and puffy. And he is house hunting in Vermont for cheaper houses. I think he knows he is screwed.

How is he screwed? Whatever goes down it will merely be insurance payouts.
Alec and his wife are worth a lot. They won't be able to touch their personal wealth because this is how the system works.

NP. Of course he is. I have no problem with his actions here. A young mother died in his arms. Weird how wrapped up you are in defending insurance companies and horrifically negligent parties.

You don't understand the legal actions here at all.

He is screwed because he is probably untouchable in Hollywood right now and his lifestyle is extremely expensive. Alec works because he needs to work. He has said as much in interviews before. Suddenly he doesn't have income coming in, and probably won't for the near future. My guess has always been that they live close to the edge financially and this is tipping them over.
