I needed daikon for a recipe but they are sold HUGE. like 2 feet long and quite thin. They charge by the pound. So I broke off 6 inches (it broke off smooth) and put the rest back. My husband thinks you can't do that. Is it OK? Produce is constantly picked up, squeezed and put down. If someone else had done this, I would have been grateful for the smaller piece and bought that one. It's like the picture but the grocery store I go to (Wegmans) only has them for 2 feet long.

No, this is not okay. Holy crap. Do you break chocolate bars in half and put the rest back, too? -a USian |
| You were wrong. |
| Completely wrong, OP. What on earth is wrong with you? Do you think no one else will buy the daikon after you? You really must have been raised in a barn. |
I think someone else will buy it, just as I have, and prefer to buy, the smallest daikon available. |
No one wants to buy a half-eaten cookie. Is that what you do when you buy other food items? Do better. |
| This is so crazy. Come on OP. Regardless of your background, you SHOULD know better. |
I would never buy half broken daikon. |
| Would you do this with a potato? |
| I do this with ginger all the time. |
Most of gingers are already broken. Different situation. |
| Go to Mom's. You can find smaller sized ones. They must have done this knowing shoppers break it off. |
| I hope OP learned her lesson |
It’s like $1-$3 dollars a pound? |
