Idling in the bus lane outside of school hours

Kid goes to a magnet school and the bus timings from ES are at 7:15am - sign says not to park during hours 8:15 to 9:30 and 7:15 is not listed. Many of us parents idle in that lane and one bus usually just parks behind the last car or on the lane next to it and kids get in and go. A new bus driver on the second bus does not park in the usual spot at the back but flashes the light and parks too close to the last car making us move. If we move forward to the front of the line, he comes all the way to the front behind the last car and again flashes the full beam. Today at drop off after ES kids were gone (around 4pm) there were just 2 of us in that lane. The car in front of me did not move so I couldn't either when he came too close to me and I stayed put. After the kids got off he parked next to me, opened the bus door and said I had to move. I asked him how could I if the car in front of me did not move. He said I should not be idling in the bus lane. He did not bother to tell the other car driver.

By law, are we not allowed to idle in bus lane when the sign does not say it? Is he just being a DB? The other bus driver does not care and just parks in the lane next to the bus lane and goes on his way. We parents have been doing this for 2 years prior and this is the first time someone has been aggressive and flashing lights and coming too close to us.

+1 OP you’re being ridiculous - you aren’t supposed to be in the bus lane and you know that. The other bus driver was just lax. Your time of breaking the rules is up.

You are “ standing” not parking anyway so the sign has no bearing on what you are doing.
Don’t be in the bus lane at all on a school day when they are using it.

the signs are obviously for the specific school, they arent going to print new signs that say "oh and also at 7:15 because this year, that's the pick up time from this place for this other magnet school". you're following the letter of the sign, I guess, but think of why the sign is there. it's so the buses can park safely and students can get on or off without having to weave in between cars or worry about cars pulling out and driving off while they are trying to walk towards the bus. it's for your kids safety. right?

7:15 isn't listed NOT because it's magically safe and okay and totally legal to block the bus lane at that time, but because when the signs were erected, there probably wasn't a magnet bus pick up at 7:15 in front of the school, and the signs were printed for the school's hours.
Don't be pedantic. You think there is really a difference between blocking this bus at 7:15 and blocking the other busses at 8:15? You know there isn't. It's still a PITA for the bus drivers and not safe for the kids. This sounds strong, but I actually hate people like you.
