Is this part aging? I’m 50. I eventually fall back asleep but only after being awake fir an hour.

What age did you start this?

It goes through phases.

When I hit a sleepless night or two, I remember the advice of my therapist: rest is rest, and rest is good. So even if your body and mind aren’t sleeping, you can rest.

Keep the lights out, stay in bed, enjoy the coziness of laying in a warm bed in a dark room.

45 here and sometimes I don’t fall back for 2-3 hours! Good times

Yes, started around 50. Welcome to perimenopause/menopause! And yes I just hope to fall back asleep.

How old are you? A sleepless night or two is one thing but night after night is a drain on the body and mind. Ask me how I know.

Started around 54, could not get back to sleep. Now, 3 years later, if I'm awake before 4am, I cam get back to sleep. If its around/after 4, there's no making sleep happen, no matter how hard I try

OK, sorry that I’m not as old as you are, but I did experience PTSD after a car crash that killed my friend, and wasn’t able to sleep for a few years. Thus, the therapy. But you are really wise and know more than me because you’re older, so I’ll just shut up and sit at your feet and listen to your more important life experience.

This. It will happen to me for a while and then stop for a while. I find it’s better if I stay up a little later so I’m more tired and also try to avoid stressors (easier said than done.)

Super fun times- the wake up at 3 am with the menopause migraine

I can usually fall back asleep but then I am so exhausted when it’s time to wake up at 6! So now if I wake up at 4 or later I just try to get out of bed and go to bed early the next day.

It started for my husband around 45.

I only have it when I’m stressed about something. Or sometimes when I drink a coffee in the evening.

I started it when I was a kid. I usually wake up at least twice. I don’t ever sleep through the night and haven’t for 40 years.

At 37 I switched to midnight shift to earn more money for my family and at 38 i switched back, physically wrecked. It's been months but I still wake up all the time at 330. I figured it was because of that but maybe it's my age.

At 3 AM, I get up, turn on the coffee pot and start my day. The only problem with this schedule is that I go to sleep at 8 PM.
