| Curious if you do and if you are a man or woman. As a woman when I tell them what I do, they always ask me if I own a house like right at meeting me. And they don't forget either. They keep mentioning it later. It's weird that a man keeps bringing it up and it makes me wonder why are they looking to house themselves in my house or what? I mean these are people I worked with too. |
| I would never ask someone if they own a house, but I would also never ask someone what they do. It’s so boring and American. |
|
They are trying to gauge your finances. There are a lot of men and women in the dating pool that are floundering in very large debt.
I've had the dates follow me out to the parking lot to get a look at the car I am driving (again...trying to gauge your finances.) |
Still, one of those is a normal icebreaker question and the other one is weird. |
| No one I know or who I've ever met has asked about owning a house |
| Because of where I live, I have been known to ask them if they have a job. But nothing having to do with finances beyond that. |
| This is very weird and would automatically turn me off. |
|
I might ask where do you live and it's up to them to say
DC/Petworth/Clarendon/I have a condo in Dupont/I have a house in Arlington |
| I would never ask that. |
| Yes and their exact address |
| Would never ask. Have never been asked. |
| A number of men have offered this information. IMO it's a way of telling dates that they are financially secure, nothing more. |
This has happened with multiple men? |
| Yes OP I was asked that and also if I had a US citizenship (on video intrusive). Immediate unmatch . The men themselves had beaten up apartments in the background. I own 50+ rentals |
Truly well off people don’t need a 9-5 job |
