I'm hearing some people have gotten acceptances already for Penn State business. Anyone care to share if their kid heard back and their results, major, stats, OOS/in-state, and when they submitted their application? thanks

DS is waiting on Smeal too - he’s not hopeful and said it’s 10 percent admission. Fingers crossed!

Business is THE hot major. Plus, all the high achieving STEM kids that would have historically applied computer science are now applying for business because of AI. Everyone wants a direct admit program so they don’t have to risk not getting admitted to the major they want a year into college (UVA, I’m talking to you). All of these business programs are very hard admits.

Pretty much everywhere -- business, CS or some engineering are like UMD's limited enrollment programs. Admit rate is more competitive

It was less than that last year for OOS. A lot of DD’s friends got offered one of their satellite campuses. Good luck!

Oh not hopeful then! I will only pay oos tuition for main campus. Agree about wanting a direct admit program after my older child did not get into uva comm school

Ask on College Confidential. Someone on there will know they date they released offers for the past 5-10 years

PSU business is one of the hardest admits for business majors. I heard because they're completely stats driven and once they run out of space, you can't even get into the main college under a different major unless you request for it after the rejection.

Because they want to use it to cheat? Because that's what's happening in the classes I teach. The business students have a not-good reputation on my campus for tbat and for other reasons. But I guess the prospect of future earnings outweighs a lot of things.

I think it’s because there are less CS jobs due to AI, so students are applying to business. Where did the cheating discussion come from?
