| Do your college students see their old high school friends when they come home or have they drifted apart? |
| Yes! For my college junior, breaks are spent back and forth at each close friends’ house. They are so happy to be reunited! For my recent grad, he is living in NYC with high school best friend. They attended different colleges, but remained close. |
| Yes, both do. |
| Yes. My son sees his crew from Kindergarten as well as friends from his private HS. He has a tight knit crew of about 6 from elementary school. |
| Older kid who just graduated college really just has one hs friend she is still sees and is close to, younger kid ( freshman now) is part of a big pack of boys who I expect will see each other a lot throughout college breaks but who know |
| They still see each other but don't talk much during the school year and it's obviously not the same. We also live in NYC so lots of college friends want to come visit during breaks and summer and he prefers those friends. He's a junior and it's changing for sure. My daughter is graduating this year and really doesn't enjoy her friend group anymore... is just sort of hanging on so that she has a crew for senior activities. I think she's really looking forward to being done with these kids. |
| Yes, all the kids do this when visiting from college, and their new state where they got a job after college for one of them. Mostly because everyone comes home for Thanksgiving and Christmas |
| Yes. We never see our daughter in school breaks. She is always with friends. |
| My kid saw their high school friends during every break the first year. Then the get together became less frequent over the summer with some friends at summer study abroad programs. We are in-state so my kid still visits friends at other in-state schools. I anticipate that things will start changing this year and next year as the kids get more involved in college friendships and away-from-home-opportunities. |
| Rarely. |
| Yes, frequently. They also visit one another at their respective colleges. |
|
Yes, they're both very close to their friends.
They have elementary school neighborhood friends and then private high school friends--packs of 6-10 from each era. We never see our kids on college breaks and they also visit their friends at their colleges. |
|
Very much.
Small private - these kids from home are the forever friends. |
Yep. It's different than when we were kids. With social media and texting they all keep in very close touch. My kids will know their high school friends until they're 80. |
| Yes and they all meet up somewhere at someone's college at least once a year. |
