The sad thing is that these people who need SNAP benefits also need ACA Healthcare and thats going away next to pay for the tax cuts for billionaires. So they are screwed either way.

Don't forget that a lot of Headstart programs are shutting down because of lack of federal funds, which means many low income people are also losing their childcare at the same time.

It's so frustrating because the GOP doesn't care about any of these people or programs (except, bizarrely, Marjorie Taylor Green has been talking about helping the people on the ACE -- strange bedfellows). Trump is happy to watch poor people suffer and to use the shutdown as an excuse to fire more feds, and the GOP congress will sit on its hands because they only care about pleasing Trump. Dems are held hostage by the fact that they are the only party who actually cares about having a functional government that fulfills its promises to the people. I am hoping they can extract some kind of promise about the ACA before they cave but I just don't know.

Most people who get SNAP are disabled, already work or are CHILDREN IN SCHOOL.

For every 1 meal a food bank provides, SNAP benefits provide 9 meals. So for every single meal you eat starting Nov 1 and onward, the GOP is literally STARVING millions of Americans.
