WASHINGTON — Amazon is set to announce a new round of major job layoffs, multiple media outlets reported Monday afternoon.

According to Reuters, Amazon plans to cut as many as 30,000 corporate jobs starting on Tuesday. The outlet cited three people familiar with the matter.

While that figure would represent a small percentage of Amazon’s 1.55 million total employees, it would be nearly 10% of the company’s roughly 350,000 corporate employees

They are constantly laying off and firing people. Its not a healthy place to work.

This is what amazon does regularly. As much as you want to label this a trump thing its not they've been doing this for a long time look it up.

Yep. I’ve been recruited by them a number of times and told them hell no each time. I don’t know why anyone works for that company.

I wouldn’t be surprised if demand has dropped. I just really haven’t been interested in shopping or buying stuff lately. I have been turned off from them lately because a lot of what they sell is just junk.

Firing middle managment? GOOD! Middle management and 99% of upper management is worthless in the business world.

Those desk jockies aren't real workers and aren't doing real jobs anyway. Cull them good and hard.

My sister just started there this summer, and relocated for the job. Concerned…

Try reading. This is their biggest layoff ever, even bigger than the COVID layoff in 2022

As companies get larger, they have larger layoffs.
A company of two people, where the one employee gets fired, has a 50% workforce reduction and 100% employee loss. When there are millions of workers, a few here and there are nothing.

It's good to randomly fire the useless feeders, just to keep the useful workers in line.

only question is how many of the 30,000 jobs are in the DMV

Latest prime day failed. Tariffs have raised prices, affecting demand.

I try not to use Amazon and we used to get something shipped to us every other day. 1) I hate Bezos and everything he stands for (especially since he destroyed the Wash Po) and 2) It’s ALL Chinese crap. Where did all the good stuff go?
