It has a huge backyard and basement that could be finished easily. Super affordable family house, at least as compared to new builds. Zoned for Glebe, Hamm and WL.

Love the back porch and patio!
|
| Love it. Expensive for the finished square ft. |
| I really like it. I like that area too. The lot does look weird on the map though. I don't love the dark brown cabinetry, but I think I could live with it. I like that neighborhood. |
| I considered that house, but there were too many things that I'd have to fix for that price -- like finishing the basement and replacing all those dumb vessel sinks. I also didn't love the kitchen. For 2800 sq ft at $1.8 million, I just needed to be more in love with it. But seems like they're anticipating lots of offers based on the all-caps language in the description. |
It's a really unique lot. The backyard extends for most of the block. Super deep. Really great for kids or dogs. |
|
The lot shape is strange and the back yard photos made it look like it's all paved until you finally see the whole yard. Someone not into grilling and firepits might not like it. Do the grills convey?
I do not love the wood tones. |
| So this house is a split-level? The floor plans show five levels. Seems kind of choppy. |
It's not really a split level. The main level has all the normal features: office, kitchen, family room, dining room. There's just one bedroom and bathroom that's a few steps up or down. |
It's basically a normal, small Arlington backyard and then a giant bonus backyard space. So strange in a good way. |

This is not "affordable"
People are losing their jobs. Even with jobs no this is not "affordable" |
| I walk through here a lot and really like that neighborhood. And St Agnes is right there, if you’re into that. The large lot is what would sell me. Basements are easy to finish, smaller houses are growing on me, but that’s the stage of life I’m entering. Maybe too small if starting a family and intending to have 3+. |
Yeah, I wouldn’t call $1.8 mil “super affordable” in any context. The house is nice, they will probably get that or close to it based on comps. |
I don’t disagree but also who is losing jobs? Feds? Feds weren’t buying at this price anyways unless they’re sitting on a ton of existing appreciation or have family $ or high earning spouse |
I agree that plenty of people can afford this. Just not sure I understand the logic of spending this amount for an older home. New homes in North Arlington start around $2.1 million and you have more standard design choices (e.g., no funky kitchen cabinets) plus a finished basement. Of course $300K more is significant, and I'm not downplaying that, but for high earners, it's maybe an extra year or two of savings from salary. I'll admit that this house does have a nice backyard, but we barely use ours because of the crazy mosquitos in this area. |
