has anyone been to games at Liberty Sports park in Maryland?

Just wondering if you would avoid a tournament playing there. It has bad reviews from an inconvenience/hassle standpoint.

Yes. This park was clearly designed by someone who has never attended a sports tournament, or had children. I would not want to return.

AVOID +!

Huh? Other than the toilet facilities, it’s fine. Plenty of parking, new fields, and new shopping centers close by with food.

Do I love the 1 hour drive from DC on the beltway? No. Other than that, it works.

It's fine—getting in and out is easy. Fields are nice. I'm not sure why people don't like it.

Far from close in DMV
No benches for teams
Bathroom situation bad
No bleachers for parents to watch the game, standing only, behind chain link fence

But the fields are great for the players!

nice fields. standing only and some fencing only gives you partial view.
No restrooms, only portapotties
Parking sucks on huge tournament weekends, but fine on normal ones

Please skip it.

We need less affluent pompous people in club soccer.

This may win the award for most DCUM-ist post I have seen.

My kid will play soccer in a phone booth. Keep you and your fancy kid at home. Diluting the marketplace.

There is not enough parking for tournaments.

Also, there is nowhere to watch the games. All the spectators have to be on a concrete sidewalk between the fields, behind a chainlink fence.

The fields don't have benches for the players.

Really, its just very poorly designed. I don't know why you would design a huge park without considering parking, bathrooms, spectators, etc.

Look, if a team manager is deciding between two tournaments and one plays games here and one plays games somewhere else, its worth considering the Hassle Factor.

Compared to what other fields?

Your not stating anything different than most fields in the DMV

They must helicopter out to other fields out in rural VA, DE, PA and North MD

Fields are great for the players and assuming the tournament has the teams or competition that they want to play, that’s all that matters.

If this is a factor in certain decisions, move your kid to rec.

Nonsense. I've been a TM for years and if a tournament has fields that are a huge pain, that's a huge consideration in whether we pay for that event again the next year. Hello, Muldoon Farm.
