Private & Independent Schools
| Propaganda would mean promotion of the school. I've yet to see any recent promotion of the school in any mainstream media. What your are describing is a outing of Chris, which does not help the students/teachers/parents. |
Who says the bolded? The media have no such obligation. |
Chris has been outed many, many times. Class Clowns, An Empire Undone, numerous WSJ, NYT and other articles... And outing him in regards to this latest scam of his will actually help everyone you mentioned - teachers, admins, students and parents - who can then move on to something sustainable and viable. The only person it won't help is CW himself |
| Are you saying in any circumstance that the media does not have any moral obligation to sit on a story? I don't think the military or IC would agree with that. The data, court filings, documents are already there. |
Are you seriously likening CW's latest scam to a matter of national security?! |

I wonder if Whittle will try to become a DC charter as some way to salvage things. I believe that is what Edison ended up doing.
Not sure how one does that and what it means for current investors, but any Upper NW DC charter school would see a ton of interest...considering that would be the only one that would exist. Also, not sure what that would mean for current non-DC Whittle students. |
Just making an analogy, I could make a dozen others. I'm not defending Chris in any way. Make as many Netflix documentaries as you want after the school closes. No one needs additional negative press. Again finish the school year and lets see what happens. Does Chris owe you money too? You're riding this guy hard. My last reply, I'm done. |
What do you tell the suckers he will try to get to apply for next year? The financing is just weeks away? That's why the world needs to know. |
Chris Whittle VERY much needs negative press - look at what he's doing to these families and kids. I am frankly surprised that the slow and painful death of this school hasn't generated any media interest yet. |
I'm the poster you asked if Whittle owes money to. Funny you should ask - he tried to convince my firm to invest in the school but nothing of what he said passed the smell test so we declined. I have followed this thread off and on since then and have not been surprised by anything that has transpired. As the two posters above said better than I could, the reason a light needs to be brightly shined on this situation is to prevent others from falling into the same predicament as you (don't mean to be presumptuous, but your posts suggest you have a child at the school and hope to see the year out). I have nothing but sympathy for anyone caught up in this school but far worse would be for more to fall into CW's trap |
I'm so tempted to call the admissions office and ask "innocent" questions, just to see what they would say. It doesn't matter whether anyone "needs" negative press -- if the media think it's a good story, they are going to run it, regardless of its impact on the school. |
| The Virginia based cleaning and custodial company K and S Management filed suit in New York today for $183k owed to them in unpaid invoices...one of many in NY.. |
Could you post the article or where you found it?!! This is insane…tomorrow is the day we are waiting to know if the kids will continue school… |
What does this mean? |
Recently we learned that it wasn’t looking too good with the investors and our financial situation, tomorrow is when we find out what money we do have. |
