I agree. I remember when we paid club fees and team fees and then my DC got trained. Now, it’s pay and pay and pay some more for what is a lesser-quality of the previous product.

Man you gotta get up out of there. Honestly if your not quite ready for the ecnl jump quite yet. Look at Premier AC they are on the same if not better training level and will get your kid to the next level if thats what you are looking for. They care about the kids development more than club wins.

I don’t know why we didn’t. Last year was a “eh let’s wait and see” but this really feels like a lost year

What do you mean your DC is not getting trained. From what I understand, all teams are still being trained by their coaches in the winter, this is just additional as you can get by going anywhere else outside of your team practice. Both of my DC are on different teams and started their winter training. I have also seen other teams other than theirs training so I'm not sure what you are referring to as having to pay for training.

It's been a very difficult season. Yes, we go to practice, and, DC isn't getting trained.

Yeah we are in the same situation there. Seems like our training is nothing more than a game of rondo.

Well if he is going to practice, technically he is being trained. Unless coach is just saying go out and play for the entire practice then I'm sure coach is trying to pass something on to all players.

Yeah, that's basically what's been insinuated. "Shut up and take it, whatever we do is good therefore this is good."

Unfortunately I haven't received that experience with my DC and I haven't been forced to sign up for anything extra. I feel that the coach has tried to teach my DC. We have been getting training in the winter and the OP made it seem that they weren't getting any, then they tried to make it as if it wasn't good enough. I just pointed out that training was taking place and likely something was being taught. Everyone's experience is different so I'm not defending the club but the offering of clinics during the offseason is very standard business at any club in the DMV. My DC doesn't plan to play GK and striker clinic seems to be more of a fun thing kids like to do.

I can see where you’re content or optimistic. I’m not, considering how much I’ve paid.

Chill. Every club does this. How do you think we ought to maintain and sustain coaches’ bills and loans?

I’ll continue to have SO train my DS in a small group environment. At least I know the money is going on his wallet and not padding the pockets of directors.

Honestly, that's probably the best way to do it. I'm sure many coaches would be willing to provide individual training for a reasonable fee. Many probably don't do it because they don't want to go through the hassle of marketing it or making it their priority but if they have time, I'm sure they would be willing to take on a couple of individual clients or small group. If there is a coach you like, just ask if they are interested.

Does SO stand for significant other in this post?

SO stands for the initials of one of the coaches at the club. On his own time he trains a small group of players.
