What is a blind site? |
This is true. She has worked hard on her craft but she’s not an outstanding vocalist. I do think she is an outstanding songwriter and performer. One of her many strengths is that she writes her own songs, fosters collaborations with talented musicians, and doesn’t depend upon on songwriters. It also helps she doesn’t have a crazy family like Britney and appears overall nice and talented unlike Justin Timberlake. |
NP. Blind gossip sites. It’s basically just anonymous hearsay about celebrities, and usually completely fake. |
Same. I’m glad she’s honest that she loves the awards. We don’t have awards in my field and I was thinking how nice it is to receive them! |
Both things can be true. She strategizes how to gain new audiences. Britney and Timberlake probably didn’t do much of that. Taylor strategically partners with bands (National, the 1975, Haim, for example) and other bands of different genres and I suspect part of that is to draw in new audiences and part of that (like with newer artists like Ice Spice) is for PR. Yes, her marketing is way better than any other artist. Examples: —She uses “you,” so it always sounds like she is talking to one person. “I saw the videos of you camping out for a spot. Thank you for doing that. I love you.” —She released the SAME album with FOUR different covers to maximize revenue. Buy all four and you can make a clock. —She releases tracks that you can only buy a Target. —She partners with singers and musicians to bring in new audiences. Kendrick Lamar Ice Spice The National (audiences is dads of Swifties) Haim —She had a show Midnights Mayhem with Me on TikTok to share one track title per night with fans. The list goes on. Meanwhile, Britney dances with knives and Justin is associated with abortion and ripping off Janet Jackson’s shirt at a Super Bowl. You can’t be a good marketer if you don’t have educated and sane family members to get you through early stardom. Taylor had an eating disorder and her family probably helped her though it. Without that support, she easily could have not made it. A lot of talented people fizzle out due to making big mistakes, having a breakdown, or having to spend energy dealing with trauma from crazy family members. You can’t thrive for long if you are dealing with all that. |
They are all in and will be engaged next year. They both want to start a family soon. |
+1 also times were different for these artists. Fewer artists are getting through and the ones who are have to be mainstream and good at marketing to make enough. It is like the economy now- the ones who make it make it bigger and the rest of us are barely getting by. Big marketing is ruining creativity in the music industry. Taylor is big money. |
Yeah yeah yeah. I read that article too. |
It’s actually the opposite… It’s actually a lot harder now to make money off of music. It used to be that a few elite companies decided what we would hear on the radio, how often we would hear it, and who we would hear. If you were lucky enough to be picked, you were pretty much set . Now it’s much more democratized with the Internet… Making it easier in some ways to get your stuff out there but also a lot harder because there’s a lot more noise and because there aren’t a few companies deciding. It’s also hell of a lot harder to actually sell albums these days. |
So basically you are saying any artist can do what Taylor does if they are super talented, keep it together mentally and don't let fame and money go their head, work incredibly hard and stay committed, be talented and hard working enough to attract the best teams to help put their natural instincts forward and be strategic about it, and have the ability to geniunely connect with fans year after year. It's super easy, got it. |
She isn’t genuinely connecting with you. (She doesn’t really know you.) and yeah to the rest. A bunch of it is luck and having the right people. There is a reason why so many of scooters artists did well and it wasn’t all talent. He is horrible but he did get results. Her dad was smart to sign her with him from a career standpoint. (Maybe not mental health wise?) |
Cut the condescending crap. I wasn't talking about me. It's actually okay for people to listen to an artist's music and feel connected, or go to a live concert and feel like you are connecting to something larger. But go ahead and twist yourself into a pretzel trying to downplay someone else's success or talents. |
sure but fans get that from all Music. iit is music that builds community: any music Teacher or preacher can tell you that. That doesn’t make u connected to the musician on insta or that musician stalks you unless you are marketing taylor swift. She capitalized on that. |
Who cares? Why is that bad…. Seems like a win-win for her, her team, and the fans. Reading this thread makes it seem like inherently bad or evil. |
If that was easy to accomplish they would all be doing it. It’s not a secret. She’s out there doing it, and no one else can come close. It’s not a secret, but it sure is a mystery. |
