| If your kid applied REA/SCEA to Harvard Yale Princeton or Stanford in the past few years, did the school ask for first quarter grades? If so, which school and did they ask through your kids school counselor? |
| Stanford didn’t ask for first quarter grades. |
| I'm pretty sure Yale SCEA got first quarter grades, but would defer to someone with better recall. |
| I’m a bit fuzzy too, my memory is didn’t send to Yale and wished did as they were strong and knew not everyone’s would be. |
| ^ Adding, pretty certain the common app showed which required if you look there. |
| Princeton requested them through the counselor. |
|
I'm also wondering about this too.
And if first quarter grades were requested, did you kid have lower grades - like Bs. Were they ultimately accepted or denied? |
| Any Q1 grade requests this admissions cycle? I’ve heard Princeton typically asks during the first week of December Do they request even if kid goes to a “feeder” school? |
And this is why other people hate the perceived privilege and presumption of the feeder school culture. |
| We got one yesterday from Princeton. Public school. |
| For previous years, did the request for quarter grades when they are not required for all lead to an admit? |
|
I don't think our high school sends it unless it's been requested by the college. And I have no idea if it's been requested since I'm not pinging our high school counselor just to be curious.
How are people finding out if it's requested? |
| When do REA for HYPS come out? Is it Dec 12th, or later? |
| Our private/feeder sends q1 grades to all ED/REA schools, whether they ask or not. Very stressful last year for my senior applying early to an ivy. He had a b for q1 in one class, but everything worked out. |

OP--FYI:
Some private high schools know the drill about which colleges historically want first quarter grades and will auto-send them every year. Just FYI as this can obscure your poll OP. My kid's were sent last year and I have no idea if the college asked or the high school just sent them. |
